The Colloquium
The Working CLIL Colloquium is a biennial event which brings together practitioners, researchers and teacher educators to exchange perspectives on core issues in Content and Language Integrated Learning. The first Colloquium was held in 2018 at the University of Porto and coincided with the launch of the Working CLIL research strand of CETAPS. The second took place online in 2021 due to the Covid pandemic. In 2023, the Colloquium is once again presential at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto.

After over two decades of exponential growth which have seen CLIL/bilingual education evolve across continents, it is time to take stock and explore appropriate strategies, ideas and impactful educational research that is capable of moving CLIL/bilingual education forward and making it a sustainable practice across educational levels. Sharing ideas and understandings within and beyond national contexts may create new synergies and ways of working that may be beneficial for the future of CLIL/bilingual education.

This Colloquium is intended for: content and language teachers from pre-primary to higher education who are engaged in CLIL or are considering future involvement; school directors and CLIL coordinators; CLIL teacher educators; educational researchers and scholars.

The languages of the event are English and Portuguese.
