The organisers welcome proposals for 20-minute papers in English responding to the above.

Suggested topics include (in every case, involving the Romance cultures):

* dramatic / narrative / lyrical rewritings of Shakespeare

* Shakespearean characters / Shakespeare as character: literary afterlives

* biography and / as fiction: testing the boundaries

* staging him: Shakespeare in the performing arts

* screening him: Shakespeare's work on film, television, or digital media

* setting him: Shakespeare in/and music

* sending him up: burlesques of the Bard
