The Working CLIL Colloquium is a biennial event which brings together teachers, practitioners, researchers and teacher educators to exchange perspectives on core issues in Content and Language Integrated Learning. The first Colloquium was held in 2018 at the University of Porto and coincided with the launch of the Working CLIL research strand of (Centre for English Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies (CETAPS). Subsequent colloquia were organised virtually and presentially at the University of Porto. Our next colloquium will be held at the Polytechnic University of Castelo Branco (IPCB) and will be jointly organized by IPCB and two local agrupamentos de Escolas: AE Gardunha e Xisto (Fundão) and AE Nuno Alvares (Castelo Branco).
After almost three decades of exponential growth which have seen CLIL/bilingual education evolve across continents, it is now an appropriate moment to reflect on how it accommodates new migration flows and responds to an increasingly plurilingual and multicultural turn in schools. Sharing ideas and experiences both within and outside national boundaries can foster new collaborations within and beyond national contexts and may create new synergies and ways of working that may positively influence the future of CLIL/bilingual education and of the multicultural and plurilingual turn in schools.
This Colloquium is intended for: content and language teachers from pre-primary to higher education who are engaged in CLIL or are considering future involvement; school directors and CLIL coordinators; CLIL teacher educators; school librarians; educational researchers and scholars interested in plurilingual and intercultural approaches.
The languages of the event are English and Portuguese.
