FAQ1: Where will the online colloquium take place?

  • The colloquium will be hosted on a new CETAPS platform. We will send you a link to the colloquium platform and your login details a few days before the event.

  • You will only be able to access the colloquium on both days via the CETAPS platform.

FAQ2: What video conferencing software will we be using?

  • We will use Zoom Meetings since it is very user-friendly.

  • To join Working CLIL 2021, you have to download the software in advance and/or create an account, if you haven’t already.

  • You will find the download here. Select the first option: Zoom Client for Meetings.

  • An easy to use ‘How to Zoom’ guide can be found here.

  • Zoom includes interactive features, like ‘raising your hand’ and chat. During Working CLIL 2021, take advantage of these to interact with the speakers, chairs and other delegates, and stay engaged during the sessions.

FAQ3: Is Zoom secure?

  • We will be following all the recommended precautions.

  • We will have hosts monitoring each session to make sure only registered delegates will be able to access the colloquium.

FAQ4: What about conference registration on both days?

  • There will be a Registration desk (Main menu) where you can say ‘Hello‘, meet the secretary and let the organisers know you have logged on. Here your name will be entered into a raffle according to the educational level you teach (pre-primary & primary; secondary, or higher education).

  • Conference registration closes at 9.30am on 26 March and at 9am on 27 March 2021.

FAQ5: Will there be time for networking and social events?

  • Coffee break rooms: We are including opportunities to meet keynotes speakers, discussion around poster presentations and workshops, and just chatting to colleagues in the coffee breaks.

  • Concert: There will also be a very short musical concert (Fado with a contemporary twist) which will take place straight after the poster session on the Friday evening.

  • Raffles: There will be raffles on each day of the event where participants have the opportunity to ‘win’ a prize.

FAQ6: Will I be able to get proof of participation/attendance/accreditation?

  • You will get a certificate of participation and/or attendance.

  • Portuguese teachers attending the 25-hour teacher training course will receive a certificate of accreditation if they attend at least 75% of all sessions (colloquium + follow-up sessions).

  • Certificates will be sent to the email address you provide(d) when registering.

FAQ7: Will keynote presentations, workshops and poster presentations be recorded?

  • No, we will not record any sessions.

We do hope that you will participate in all rounds of workshops and posters. It is very tempting to be otherwise occupied, especially when we are attending an event from our own homes. Please do keep with us throughout. This is the only way the Colloquium will work.
